MEXICO BEACH − The luxury home market in Bay County continues to boom as the area is in the midst of arguably its busiest time of year.
Ranging from $1.7 million to $3.05 million, here are the Top Five most expensive homes sold in Bay County during June. None of the properties were in the Panama City Beach area. Two were in Mexico Beach, two were in Panama City, and one was in Lynn Haven.
The list was provided by the Central Panhandle Association of Realtors, a local organization that oversees about 2,000 real estate agents in Bay, Calhoun, Washington, Holmes and Jackson counties.
#1: 106 S. 25th St., Mexico Beach
Claiming the top spot on the list is this 3,820-square-foot property that sold for $3.05 million, which was $228,000 less than its asking price.
Built in 2022, it features five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and two half bathrooms. It sits on along the coast of the Gulf of America.
“It has an elevator, and every bedroom has its own bathroom,” Nicole Majors, broker of BeMAJOR Gulf Coast Realty and listing agent for the property, said. “There is 100 feet of Gulf frontage on the house. You see a lot of 50-foot Gulf fronts, but this had that full 100-foot spread.”
The property’s buyers plan to use it as a second home.
#2: 124 Sugar Sand W, Mexico Beach
The No. 2 spot on the list goes to this 3,942-square-foot property that sold for $2.4 million, which was $179,000 less than its asking price.
Built in 2024, it features five bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one half bathroom. It sits within walking distance of the Gulf.
“Besides the community, that home was really built and appointed very nicely,” William Flynn, sales associate for Berkshire Hathaway and listing agent for the property, said. “The kitchen, the accessories, the appliances, all the flooring, everything − was first class. … It’s a first class-built home to live in.
“I think the biggest attraction to that home (was) the fact that you’re getting a lot of bang for the buck.”
The property’s buyers plan to use it as a second home.
#3 (tie): 2601 Ferol Lane, Lynn Haven
Third on the list is this 5,522-square-foot property that sold for $1.85 million, which was $149,999 less than its asking price.
Built in 1993, it features seven bedrooms, five full bathrooms and one half bathroom. It sits along the coast of Mill Bayou.
“This home was a product of Hurricane Michael and was completely gutted down to the studs,” Cindy Chavira, broker of Own It Real Estate and listing agent for the property, wrote in a text. “The owners managed to finish the home using high-end upgrades and appliances throughout. … The best part of this home was the stunning views of the bay from all the back rooms.”
The property’s buyers plan to use it as their primary residence.
#3 (tie): 3045 W. 30th Court, Panama City
Tied for third on the list is this 4,152-square-foot property that sold for its asking price of $1.85 million.
Built in 1973, it features five bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one half bathroom. It sits along the coast of Pretty Bayou.
“That house was very well taken care of, and it had been completely renovated after Hurricane Michael,” Kathy Bass, a real estate agent for Avenue Realty and listing agent for the property, said. “It’s on a large lot that has incredible views. … It (also) has an incredible pool with a hot tub included in it that waterfalls into the pool.”
The property’s buyers plan to use it as a second home.
#5: 2111 Olivia Lane, Panama City
Closing out the list of the Top Five most expensive Bay County homes sold in June is this 5,846-square-foot property that sold for its asking price of $1.7 million.
