When is Florida’s back-to-school sales tax holiday?
Florida’s 2026 back-to-school sales tax holiday for school supplies will begin on Monday, July 20 and run through Thursday, Aug. 20.

How early can Florida schools start the school year?
The earliest start date for most Florida schools is Aug. 10, which in 2026 falls on a Monday. There is only one school district that will begin even earlier. Hamilton County schools will return on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Thirty-nine of Florida’s 67 counties will start the 2026-2027 school year on Monday, Aug. 10. Three counties will start Thursday, Aug. 13.
