The Bucs’ defensive front seven has been a primary area of concern for the team heading into the offseason. General manager Jason Licht has been aggressive in adding depth and future starters to the groups, such as linebacker Alex Anzalone and defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson.
But the moves weren’t done as the team signed Rakeem Nunez-Roches to add another impressive presence to their defensive line. It is a point that the Bucs clearly wanted to make based on how their roster is being built; in fact, it is a point that we have heard from the man at the top, Todd Bowles.

ESPN’s Jenna Laine reminded everyone of that, sharing, “Todd Bowles said a goal was to get bigger and more physical along the defensive line. They did that already with A’Shawn Robinson’s signing. This furthers that.”
A front man rotation of Nunez-Rochaes, Robinson, Vita Vea, and Logan Hall makes the group more formidable than it has been in the past. The unit will also feature Calijah Kancey, who hopes to stay healthy after back-to-back promising seasons being disrupted due to injury.
