A vegetation fire near Hemet quickly burned through about 25 acres as of Friday, Aug. 14 afternoon, and was a threat to grow at a “dangerous” rate, Cal Fire said.
The Taffle Fire was reported at the 44-200 block of Taffle Ranch Road, south of Red Mountain Road in the unincorporated area of Sage, near Hemet, Cal Fire said. There are multiple ground and air resources responding to the blaze.
Cal Fire said the fire is growing at a dangerous rate of spread. Watch Duty, a nonprofit organization that provides live wildfire updates, reported that it has the potential to burn 500 acres.
