The soon-to-be-renamed Donald Trump airport has a logo and it's gold

Palm Beach County commissioners approved on Tuesday, March 5, a trademark deal allowing the renaming of Palm Beach International Airport after President Donald J. Trump.

The commission gave the OK to the agreement in a 4-3 vote following contentious debate. The measure also gave a thumbs-up to a new logo for the airport with Trump’s name and an image resembling the presidential seal.

On March 30, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation requiring the rebranding of PBIA in honor of the 45th and 47th U.S. president. That followed the official name change of a 4-mile stretch of Southern Boulevard in Palm Beach County as President Donald J. Trump Boulevard in January.

The new airport logo, which was recommended by the Trump Organization, has as an eagle holding two olive branches. It also features a crest shield over the bird’s body with stars and stripes.

The logo is entirely gold, a design feature that has been a staple of the president’s decor of choice from Manhattan’s Trump Tower to Mar-a-Lago to the golden makeover Trump has given the White House.

Trump has been a social and business fixture in Palm Beach County since he bought Mar-a-Lago more than 40 years ago in December 1985.

During his two non-consecutive White House terms, the president has made more than 60 visits to Palm Beach County during weekends and holidays. Some stays have been for as long as two weeks, others for just 24 hours.

His last visit was May 1-2. During that trip, the president spoke at the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches.

In his speech, Trump said he has plans for the airport where has traveled to and from on his private jet and Air Force One.

“We have a lot of things in store. A lot of tremendous elements are going to be added to the airport, making it bigger and better,” Trump said. “I don’t think there’ll be anything as good as your airport will be anywhere in the country.”
