Firefighters knocked down a late-night blaze that ravaged a two-story home in a residential neighborhood just off Apalachee Parkway, the Tallahassee Fire Department said. No one was hurt.
Crews responded shortly before 1 a.m. on July 23 in the 3000 block of Quick Drive. They saw “heavy smoke and flames coming from a two-story residence, with the fire spreading into a nearby wooded area,” a news release said.
Firefighters “worked around a floor collapse to safely bring the fire under control and stop its spread. The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation,” it added.
The Fire Department was assisted by the Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County EMS and the City of Tallahassee Utilities.
