Softball districts: Episcopal, Atlantic Coast, Tocoi Creek win

Ashten Wolff, Claire Cinnamond and Emily Davidson knocked in two runs each and Episcopal survived a late rally to defeat Bolles 9-7 in the Florida High School Athletic Association District 4-2A softball final on April 30.

Bolles (16-8) nearly erased an 8-1 deficit on a 4-for-4 night for Madden Lutze, and brought the tying run into scoring position before Episcopal’s Riley Valent escaped the jam.

Chelsea Dever and Amelia Oreair also doubled for Episcopal (18-5), which weathered a lightning delay over an hour.

District 1-7A

Sarah Wisniewski’s walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning closed another thriller in the series, a 5-4 win for Atlantic Coast over Creekside (20-6). The teams played a 19-18 district final in 2025.

After Josleen Mendoza reached on an error to open the seventh, Lily Maguire doubled and Morgan Brown drew an intentional walk, Wisniewski delivered the game-winner for the Stingrays (18-7). Presley Brinkley and Maddie Hollis got two hits each for Creekside.

District 2-6A

Sydney Davis hurled a four-hitter and Nease (11-12) nailed down the district’s automatic bid, 7-1 over Fletcher (12-13). The Panthers scored all seven runs in the fifth inning, moving in front on a single by Kyleigh Rivera.

District 3-6A

Hannah Jones allowed only one hit after the second inning to boost Tocoi Creek to a 3-2 victory over Bartram Trail (13-13) in an all-St. Johns County final. Ally Satryan homered for the Toros (23-2). Both Bears runs came on a second-inning double from pitcher Rommeney Patrey.

District 3-5A

Ashlyn Madine’s go-ahead home run in the fifth inning ignited a late scoring surge for Fleming Island, winning 8-3 over Orange Park (8-18). Paige Courson, Jolee Rich and Victoria Vazquez also supplied two hits each for Fleming Island (14-8), which got four runs in the fifth and two in the sixth.

District 4-5A

Aoife Weaver and Taylor Scribner drove in three runs apiece as Ponte Vedra rolled 11-1 against county rival Beachside (12-11). The Sharks (17-8) scored five runs in the first two innings, and Abby Shin and Addison Siebenaler each recorded two hits.

District 3-4A

Alannah Lord’s first-inning home run started the night and Ryleigh Stone escaped a late jam, helping Columbia capture its first district title in nine years with a 7-4 win at Baker County. Columbia (24-3) jumped out fast with six runs in the first two innings on a three-RBI night for freshman shortstop Lord. Nasia Green and Baleigh Shields each had three hits for Baker County (22-2).

District 4-4A

With a three-hitter from Malia Collins, Clay returned to the top of the district in a 5-1 win over Menendez (9-11). Kaitlyn Howell’s RBI bunt single ignited a four-run fourth inning for the Blue Devils (10-14), while Collins struck out nine in the circle.

District 2-3A

USC Upstate commit Parker Stubbs homered twice and knocked in five runs for top seed Wakulla, rolling in a run-rule 16-1 win over Suwannee (9-14). Brianna Stephens also drove in four runs and Abbi Lawhon homered for the War Eagles (22-4).

District 3-3A

Amaya Hyslop cracked a go-ahead two-run double during a five-run sixth inning, pushing Paxon to a come-from-behind 6-2 win over Yulee (11-11). Kassidy Edwards struck out 14 batters and Mikiyah Lester went 3 for 4 for the Golden Eagles (15-7). For Yulee, Brooklyn Sawyer hit a home run.

District 4-3A

Peyton Brown’s eighth-inning single brought home ghost runner Addison VanArsdale with the only run for Wolfson, a 1-0 winner over host Bishop Kenny (8-18). Madison Saling allowed only four hits to win the pitchers’ duel for the Wolfpack (12-8), against a five-hitter from Bishop Kenny’s Sophia Mulkey.

District 5-3A

Rylee Swilley’s 3-for-4 night with three RBI helped Alachua Santa Fe fight from behind for a 9-4 victoryover Palatka (14-12). Maren Hornsby also had three hits for Santa Fe (22-3), scoring three each in the fifth and sixth innings.

District 3-2A

A third-inning homer from Jazmine Ramos-Merced started Baldwin (19-6) on the way to another district championship, 4-2 over visiting Bishop Snyder (17-9). Caitlyn Boshell hit a home run for Bishop Snyder but Lilly Hubbard otherwise stifled Cardinals bats during a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

District 5-2A

Madison Rodgers hit an infield single to score Abbie Parker in the bottom of the eighth as Newberry (14-8) won a 4-3 walk-off district final over Keystone Heights (11-15). Keystone had twice come from behind on Lily Asa’s fifth-inning homer and Bella Cumbo’s sixth inning double to force extras.

District 2-1A

Ava Money’s go-ahead sacrifice fly capped a comeback win for St. Johns Country Day, 5-4 over Christ’s Church (14-7). The Spartans (11-6) trailed 4-2 entering the seventh, tying the score on Caden Brown’s two-run double. For Christ’s Church, Georgia Griffin and Kaitlyn Tester had consecutive inside-the-park homers.

District 3-1A

Three University Christian pitchers combined on a four-inning perfect game in a 16-0 shutout of Harvest Community (17-9). Sinai Tunsill went 3 for 3 with a triple for Class 1A No. 1 UC (16-4), which raced ahead with seven runs in the first.

District 4-1A

McKenzie Zurn’s two-run triple in the fourth inning pushed Peniel Baptist ahead for a 7-5 victory over St. Joseph (5-12). Peniel Baptist (14-8) also had two-hit nights for Kenna Cone and Allison Peacock.

District 5-R

Alden Bass threw a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and also hit a home run for top seed Madison County, winning 10-0 over Hilliard (6-14) in five innings. Logan Bass, Gracelynn Newsome and Emma Rogers also went deep for Madison County (17-3).
