Starting May 1, a special version of the daily afternoon tea at Café Boulud at The Brazilian Court in Palm Beach will celebrate moms as part of the lead-up to Mother’s Day on May 10.
Through May 9, the French-American restaurant’s 3-4 p.m. afternoon tea will feature such specialty fare as pastries with a peach-and-cherry blossom mousse, as well as cherry-and-pistachio macarons and a strawberry-and-rhubarb tart.
Other goodies are set to include mini asparagus-and-cheese tarts; tea sandwiches —r anging from smoked salmon to lobster — and a variety of scones served with Devonshire cream and preserves.
The bill of fare for the specialty teas has been conceived by Café Boulud’s executive pastry chef, Rosana Quintero, who leads the overall afternoon-tea program at the restaurant, 301 Australian Ave.
A variety of teas will be offered, such as those by Palais des Thés, founded in 1986 in France by François-Xavier Delmas.
English Breakfast, Earl Gray, Indian-spired Darjeeling and herbal are among other teas that will be offered.
Coffee drinkers can order lattes, cappuccinos, espressos or American-style java pours.
Each of Café Boulud’s mom-celebrating afternoon teas is $68 a person, and advance reservatons are required.
