After less than a year of operation, the fast-casual restaurant with a mission to make “Indian food more attractive to every palate” has officially closed for good.
Tiffin Box opened in August 2025 on 799 W. Gaines St. It was in the former I Heart Mac and Cheese storefront in College Town and sat next door to other food spots like Bagels and Co., Chipotle and Playa Bowls.
For 10 months, the bright yellow restaurant offered family recipes guests could enjoy in customizable bowls, wraps and naan roll ups.
Owner Anesh Bodasing was intentional about making Indian food approachable to guests and newcomers by breaking down the ingredient names to make them more familiar and adjusting spice levels to suit every palate.
The CollegeTown location was a part of the owner’s vision to expand into college towns. One Tiffin Box location remains in Gainesville.
In terms of the future of the Gaines Street storefront, a pink poster hanging on the front door alludes to a new concept on the horizon and yes, it’s more chicken.
But, this doesn’t sound like your typical chain establishment looking to expand. The name is 2 Clucks and according to the poster they are “Coming Soon” with fried chicken, burgers, shakes and fries on the menu.
