Tallahassee baseball showed out last week.
Florida State’s Myles Bailey and Alabama’s Brady Neal earned ACC and SEC Player of the Week honors, announced March 23 by their conferences.
Bailey, a Lincoln High graduate, earned his first career ACC weekly honor after a Freshman All-America campaign in 2025. The first baseman led the the Seminoles to a 3-1week and a series win over visiting NC State last weekend at Howser Stadium.
Bailey hit .500 against the Wolfpack with a 1.750 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage. He hit four home runs on the week with 10 RBI and 20 total bases. All six of Bailey’s hits went for extra bases.
Bailey hit two home runs on Saturday, March 21, to cap a four-game home run streak, tied for eighth-longest in school history. His streak was snapped on Sunday, when he was intentionally walked three times and hit by a pitch once, coming around to score on all four occasions.
Bailey leads the Seminoles in home runs (12), RBI (31) and is batting .361, tied for second on the team.
Neal, who played at NFC before finished his high school career at IMG Academy, helped lead the Crimson Tide to a three-game sweep of No. 18 Florida in Tuscaloosa. He posted a .583 average (7-12) with one double, one home run, 11 RBI, 11 total bases, three walks and one stolen base.
In four total games during the week, Neal was 8-for-16 (.500) in addition to managing at least one hit in all four of his starts. The catcher/infielder extended his on-base streak to 16-consecutive games in Sunday’s series finale, going 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, a career-high seven RBI and one walk while also scoring a run.
Neal’s grand slam in the sixth inning on Sunday helped the Tide build a five-run lead after trailing by four runs earlier in the game.
Neal currently leads Alabama in batting with a .380 average.
Both Bailey and Neal are also products of the Tallahassee-Leon Babe Ruth League, while Neal also played for the Tallahassee Heat travel team organization for five years.
