Summer solstice is June 20. At this eatery, you can celebrate all that daylight for free

PANAMA CITY BEACH — Wayback Burgers will celebrate Friday, June 20 — the first day of astronomical summer/summer solstice/longest day of the year — with its annual Free Shake Day.

Guests can enjoy a free 12-ounce vanilla milkshake, no purchase necessary, at participating locations nationwide.

Wayback Burgers has two locations in Bay County: 15750 Panama City Beach Parkway in Panama City Beach, and 1705 Florida 77 in Lynn Haven.

Summer Happy Hour deals will begin the next day, June 21, and run through Aug. 31. Guests can enjoy $2 Strawberry Hibiscus Lemonade or any shake — including flavors such as Chocolate Brownie and Red Velvet Cupcake for just $5 between 2–5 p.m. daily (exclusive to Wayback Rewards members).

”At Wayback Burgers, summer is all about sharing moments that bring people together over great food and classic flavors,” Patrick Conlin, president of Wayback Burgers, said in a press release.

“Our annual Free Shake Day is a beloved tradition that lets us thank our guests by treating them to a timeless classic —a creamy vanilla milkshake. We’re also excited to keep the summer spirit alive all season long with our Summer Happy Hour, where guests can enjoy refreshing lemonades and fan-favorite shakes at great prices.”

Since summer is almost officially here, while you’re cooling off with your milkshake, expect to experience some hot temperatures in Bay County.

On June 20 the heat index is expected to reach 109 degrees, with a forecasted high temperature of 88 degrees.

While enjoying your Wayback Burger specials, be sure to stay hydrated, use air conditioning if you have it, and stay in a cool place during the heat of the day.
