Publix opening two-story grocery store near world's tallest heart statue in Florida

A two-story Publix is opening in Port St. Lucie on July 19 at Riverland Town Center in the burgeoning western part of the city.

The new Publix will feature an upstairs area with indoor and outdoor seating, a full-service bakery, a drive-thru pharmacy, a liquor store, and a deli, in addition to the meat, seafood, produce, frozen, and dairy departments.

At 48,387 square feet, it’s an average-size Publix. The 13 most recently opened and planned stores across the United States since May 1 range from 29,495 square feet to 55,701 square feet, according to Publix’s website. The median size is 48,387 square feet.

This will be the 20th Publix in St. Lucie County and the second in the Tradition area, with one less than 2.5 miles away in Tradition Square.

The Publix is anchoring Riverland Town Center, a 35-acre center west of Interstate 95 at Community Boulevard and Marshall Parkway. Publix is part of the first phase of construction for the shopping center, which is approved for approximately 98,000 square feet of commercial space, TCPalm previously reported.

Where is the new Publix in Port St. Lucie?

The Riverland Town Center Publix is at 12407 S.W. Community Blvd., and it will open at 7 a.m. July 19.

It is located about a five-minute drive from Heart in the Park, the world’s tallest heart sculpture.

Where is Riverland Port St. Lucie?

Riverland is a master-planned community in Port St. Lucie, developed by GL Homes. It currently has four 55+ residential communities: Valencia Cay, Valencia Grove, Valencia Walk and Valencia Parc.

Riverland Town Center will be accessible to Riverland residents by bicycle, golf cart and pedestrian trail system within the communities.
