Public viewing of Blue Angels practice at NAS Pensacola suspended

Public viewing of the Blue Angels practices at the flight line behind the National Naval Aviation museum has been suspended until further notice.

The day before the flight demonstration squadron was scheduled to begin practicing onboard NAS Pensacola March 31, the National Naval Aviation Museum issued a release stating that access to the flight line for Blue Angels viewing has been halted until further notice.

“We regret this temporary cancellation, but want to reiterate that the museum remains open seven days a week for its normal operating hours,” the release said.

Access to NAS Pensacola during week days has already been restricted to those with Department of Defense (DoD) cards, meaning anyone without the proper credentials would only be able to access the base on Saturday and Sunday, therefore being unable to see the Blue Angels practices during the week.

How to access NAS Pensacola if you have a DoD card

If you have a DoD card, you will be allowed base access any day of the week and can access the National Naval Aviation Museum from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You can also escort up to 15 people with you at one time and can enter through either the Main or West gates.

How to access NAS Pensacola if you do not have a DoD card?

If you do not have a DoD card, you will not be able to access NAS Pensacola Monday through Friday unless escorted by someone with a DoD card. You will only have access to the base Saturday and Sunday.

You must first obtain a visitors pass from the Visitor Control Center from the Main Gate and then enter the base through the West Gate.
