Previewing FSU DL target Sam LeJeune's commitment

The FSU Seminoles have landed several top targets in June, and they are looking to do so again on Wednesday. Four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune is set to make his commitment, and Florida State is a finalist.

FSU is competeting with the Washington Huskies and California Golden Bears for LeJeune, who is from Poplarville, Mississippi. He officially visited all three finalists and will be a massive addition to whichever school he picks.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder is a good competitor who projects to play along the interior of the defensive line. He finished his junior season with 58 tackles, 14.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, five blocked field goals, and an interception he returned for a touchdown.

FSU has done a good job recruiting the defensive line in the 2027 recruiting cycle, with three of its 12 commits set to play along it. The group is led by four-star edge Anthony Cavallar, their third-highest-ranked commit overall. LeJeune would immediately become FSU’s top commit and add some needed star power to their class.

Here’s everything you need to know about LeJeune’s recruitment before he commits, including a prediction on which school he will pick.

Decision Time

LeJeune is scheduled to make his commitment on Wednesday, June 24, at 6:30 p.m. ET. He has not said where or how he will make his announcement.

His Recruitment

The Seminoles extended LeJeune a scholarship offer on Sept. 23, 2024, becoming the first school to do so. They have been heavily involved with him ever since, hosting him on nine visits in total and three this year. His most recent was on June 12 and was his final official visit before he went into decision mode.

My Pick: FSU Seminoles

Florida State has been at or near the top of LeJeune’s recruitment since the start, with head coach Mike Norvell making a big difference. While Cal made a push and the Auburn Tigers also had him on an official visit, the Seminoles have been in the driver’s seat for quite some time and should seal the deal on Wednesday.
