WAVE ― Women Against Violent Encounters
WAVE ― Women Against Violent Encounters, Aug. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. The program focuses on situational awareness, verbal commands, assertive and physical techniques through one-on-one training with our all-female team composed of instructors from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the St. Augustine Police Department and the St. Augustine Beach Police Department.
The Window on Death Row
The Diocese of St. Augustine, Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty and Knights of Columbus First Florida Council will host a screening of “The Window on Death Row” Aug. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bishop Baker Center at Cathedral Parish School, 267 St. George St. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with prison ministry volunteers, advocates and a word from Bishop Erik Pohlmeier.
