Pensacola police arrested a 23-year-old man Friday morning for the March crash at the intersection of Ninth Avenue and Bayou Boulevard that killed an unborn baby.
Investigators with the PPD’s traffic homicide unit arrested Nickolas Bolton on May 29 on charges of manslaughter and reckless driving in connection with the March 18 crash that killed a woman’s unborn baby.
“Bolton was driving a pickup truck south bound on Nine Avenue at a high rate of speed and ran the red light at Bayou Boulevard, causing a collision with a car being driven by a pregnant woman,” a release said.
While the woman driving the vehicle on the receiving end of the T-bone crash only sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to the PPD, her unborn child was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Bolton is held in the Escambia County Jail on $30,000 bond.
