A 29-year-old Palm Coast woman died in a car wreck May 1 on U.S. 1 south of Sawmill Trace.
About 9:35 p.m., the woman’s red Chevrolet Impala was traveling south on U.S. 1 in the outside travel lane, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
For an unknown reason, the woman lost control of her car, according to the FHP report.
The vehicle ran off the roadway onto the center median. The left side of the car then struck the guardrail, investigators said.
The car continued to travel south on the center median and struck the concrete embankment.
Flagler County Fire/Rescue arrived on scene and pronounced the driver dead. U.S. 1 was temporarily closed in that area for several hours.
