St. Bonaventure High junior Anna O’Neil won three individual titles and was part of a relay victory, St. Bonaventure freshman Tony Dargan sprinted to two titles and the Foothill Tech teams finished with 10 overall titles at the Tri-Valley League Track and Field Championships on Friday, May 1, at Ventura College.
O’Neil won the girls 100-meter dash in 12.61 seconds, the 200 in 25.63 and the long jump with a mark of 16 feet, 0.5 inches. She teamed with Wisdom Moore, Victoria Reneau and Ella Bart to win the the 4×100 relay title in 51.35 seconds.
Dargan swept the boys sprint titles, winning the 100 in 10.93 and the 200 in 22.12.
Isabella Clutts won the girls 100 hurdles (17.62) and LaShea Randolph won the girls shot put (27-5.50). Liam Purdy won the long jump (19-0.50) for the Seraphs boys team.
The Foothill Tech boys team had three double champions. Viggo Bortolin won the 1,600 (4:26.10) and 3,200 (10:21.07). Asher Bayless won the 110 hurdles (16.25) and 300 hurdles (44.71). Elijah Spencer won the discus (126-11) and shot put (45-05.50). Roman Bennett and Oliver Anthony tied for the boys pole vault title (9-0). The 4×400 relay team won in a time of 3:36.34.
Keera Wallace won the 1,600 (5:15.06) and 3,200 (12:33.02) to lead the Foothill Tech girls team. Bennett Rodman won the pole vault (8-0), Lyla Huff won the 400 (1:02.65) and Amelia Gerk won the discus (94-8) for the Dragons.
For Thacher, Lu Rodriguez won the girls 300 hurdles (49.29), Alec DiLullo won the boys 800 (2:00.15) and Rafa Keliher won the boys high jump (6-1). Thacher won the boys 4×100 relay (46.26) after St. Bonaventure was disqualified for passing out of the zone.
Frontier League
The Santa Clara boys team secured seven individual titles and one relay title and finished with 55 points to win its first team title since 2023 at the Frontier League Track and Field Championships on Thursday, April 30, at Villanova Prep in Ojai.
Davian Valladolid, a junior, was a double champion, winning the 200 meters in 25.20 and the 400 in 55.65. Junior Franckel’Ly Jacques also won two titles, capturing the long jump (17-03.25) and high jump (5-09). Junior Fabrizio Simental won the 100 in 12.26, junior Azarel Valladolid won the 800 in 13:55.03, and freshman Eythan Prado won the discus (103-06). Masen Ritter, Valladolid, Jacques and Simental took first place in the 4×100 relay with a time of 48.70.
Joseph Chavarria was a triple champion for second-place Villanova Prep, winning the 110 hurdles (18.84), the 300 hurdles (46.32) and the triple jump (35-09.75). Tommy Paine won the shot put (32-06) for the Wildcats.
In the girls meet, Santa Clara freshman Emily Starna won the girls 800 title with a time of 3:37.64. Meaghan Burns won the high jump (4-0) and shot put (24-10) for Villanova Prep.
