Palm Bay police investigate 2 fatal crashes over holiday weekend

Palm Bay police continue to investigate two fatal crashes taking place over the three-day holiday weekend.

The first crash of the weekend happened about 4 p.m. Friday, July 3, on Digby Road, forcing the closure of Eldron Boulevard. A pickup truck and an SUV were inolved, Palm Bay police reported. The identity of the person killed has not been released.

The second deadly crash occurred at about 3 p.m. Saturday, July 4, near the intersection of DeGroodt Road and Galveston Street in the southwest section of the city.

Police said an unidentified man died in the accident but did not release any further details.
