The 2026-27 school year is just a little over five weeks away for students in Escambia County Public Schools and Santa Rosa County District Schools and community groups are already gearing up to make sure they’re prepared for day one.
Several organizations are helping parents by hosting free school supply giveaways that, in some cases, include complimentary haircuts, health screenings, clothing closets and more.
Florida’s back-to-school sales tax-free weeks will also run throughout the month of August when clothing, shoes, some school supplies, computers, learning aids and other items can be purchased tax free.
Classes start in SRCDS on Aug. 10, and in ECPS on Aug. 12. Listed below are some local back-to-school supply giveaways:
