PANAMA CITY − Bay District Schools has announced that the district finished the 2025-26 school year just one point shy of earning a coveted A grade on the Florida Department of Education’s updated grading scale.

As for the district as a whole: It received a B grade for the 10th straight year. It missed an A by one point in the grading system.
“I couldn’t be prouder of our Team of Teams,” Superintendent Mark McQueen said in the district news release. “These results represent the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers and staff, the leadership of our principals, and the unwavering support of our families and community. Being just one point away from an ‘A’ is certainly exciting, but what excites me even more is the steady progress we’re seeing across Bay District Schools.”
