Palm Bay man arrested after shooting through wall, hitting 2 dogs

A 42-year-old Palm Bay man was arrested after police said he began firing a gun in his residence unprovoked, sending bullets through a wall and wounding two dogs.

Joshua Trythall was charged with two counts of animal cruelty, use or display of a firearm during the commission of a felony and shooting or throwing a deadly missile after Palm Bay police were called to a residence about 4 a.m. Thursday, May 28.

“The two dogs struck were pretty badly injured,” said Sgt. Vicent Galioto, spokesperson for the Palm Bay Police Department, adding that the condition of the canines, taken to a veterinary service, was not immediately known.

“The shooting was contained to the house.”

Police said Trythall fired off the rounds in the residence, startling his sleeping roommates. The bullets went through a wall and struck the dogs, police reported. Galioto said detectives did not have a motive for Trythall’s actions.

Trythall was held without bond at the Brevard County Jail.
