Two people charged in two 2025 deadly shootings will appear in a preliminary hearing June 8 in Stockton.
Alexis Holloway, 18, and her co-defendant Walter Burgess, 23, are charged in the deaths of Samantha Camacho on Aug. 21, 2025 and Isaac Howard on Aug. 30, 2025 in Stockton. The two are also charged with the second-degree robbery of Camacho.
A third man Amari Craven is also listed in the complaint and is charged with the murder of Camacho, second-degree robbery and being an accessory in connection to the deaths of Camacho and Howard. He is set appear in court on June 8 with his codefendants.
The days the homicides happened
On the night of Camacho’s death, Stockton police officers responded at 10:22 p.m. to Anderson Park, located at 6300 block of North El Dorado Street after a report of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they found Camacho, who had been shot. Camacho was rushed to a hospital, where she later died, police said.
Howard had been found shot near Albany and Astor Drives.
He was taken to a hospital with injuries, but it wasn’t until a month later that investigators were informed of his death.
How Howard’s death was linked to the suspects was unclear from police documents.
What’s happened in the case
A court minute order showed that Holloway entered a plea of not guilty to all counts and denied all enhancements during a hearing on March 16.
On the same day, Burgess entered a not guilty plea to all counts and denied all enhancements.
The three defendants were scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 26, but the hearing was vacated, according to court records.
An enhancement of intentional discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury and death to Camacho was added to Burgess’s charges.
An enhancement of intentional discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury and death to Howard was added to Holloway and Burgess.
Enhancements of intentional and personal discharge of a firearm, personal use of a firearm, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony were also added to Holloway and Burgess.
Additional charges for Holloway include possession of a firearm by a restricted person.
Other enhancements for Burgess include intentional discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury and death for Camacho, intentional and personal discharge of a firearm, and personal use of a firearm.
