A trio of FSU baseball players have been named All-Americans by Baseball America. Shortstop Alex Lodise made the First-Team as a designated hitter, pitcher Jamie Arnold made the Second-Team, and first baseman Myles Bailey was named to the Freshman-Team.
It is the second straight season that Arnold has made Baseball America’s All-American team and the fourth of this season. The lefty finished with an 8-2 record and a 2.98 ERA. In 84.2 innings, he recorded 119 strikeouts against 63 hits and 27 walks, holding opponents to a .208 batting average. He is FSU’s first multiple-time All-American in back-to-back seasons since Parker Messick from 2021-22
It is Lodise’s fourth All-American honor of the season, all have been First-Team nods. He finished his breakout season hitting .394 with 17 home runs, 18 doubles, 68 RBI, and 62 runs scored. He also excelled in the field, making just five errors in 216 chances and having a .977 fielding percentage. He has helped turn 34 double plays and consistently made high-level plays to rob opposing teams of hits and runs.
Bailey wasted no time cementing himself as one of the top hitters in FSU’s lineup, finishing his freshman season hitting .327 with 19 homers, 11 doubles, 56 RBI, and 50 runs scored. He ended the season red-hot, homering in seven of FSU’s last nine games, and this is his second Freshman All-American honor of the season.
