A 58-year-old man died Sept. 25 when his vehicle went into a canal in Westlake, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
Investigators identified the man as Frank Dominguez of suburban Lake Worth Beach. According to a sheriff’s report, the crash happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. near Cheetham Hill Boulevard and 50th Street North.
Investigators say Dominguez was traveling north on Cheetham Hill in a 2012 Kia Soul when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle continued through the intersection at 50th Street North, struck a sign and drove through a grassy area before going down an embankment and into a canal.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue medics pronounced Dominguez dead at the scene.
