Live updates, score, highlights from Florida baseball vs Kentucky

Florida baseball takes on the Kentucky Wildcats in the second game of the three-day weekend set on Saturday at Condron Family Ballpark. Follow along here for the score and live updates, along with highlights from this afternoon’s SEC action.

The Gators took the opener, 7-6, in walk-off style on Friday night after a three-hour rain delay. Kevin O’Sullivan’s squad trailed 6-1 going into the bottom of the eighth, but a five-spot shifted the momentum toward the home team.

Florida was 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position entering the inning, but a Brendan Lawson double with the bases loaded — aided by an error — jump-started the offense. Karson Bowen doubled in the ninth as well, ultimately scoring the winning run.

Saturday’s pitching matchup has right-hander Liam Peterson taking the mound for the Orange and Blue, while fellow righty Jaxon Jelkin climbs the hill for the visitors.

Will there be a weather delay?

There are currently some dark skies over North-Central Florida, but there has not been an official announcement as of yet. However, this tweet suggests that it is certainly a possibility.
