A grand-opening sign was still swinging Aug. 17 outside Mystic Table, creating a striking contrast with the restaurant’s current status.
The downtown West Palm Beach business at 218 Clematis St. is listed as permanently closed on OpenTable and Google, yet much of its public-facing presence suggests a restaurant still welcoming guests.
The closure marks the end of an ambitious concept with plans to blend a steakhouse, seafood restaurant, cocktail lounge and nightlife destination under one roof.
Before opening, CEO Sid Sethi described Mystic Table as “something magical, something unique,” envisioning a venue anchored by premium steaks, seafood towers, theatrical cocktails and a Chef’s Table experience.
After opening, Mystic Table expanded into brunch service and hosted a steady stream of promotions, including live entertainment, prix-fixe dinners, wine nights and tableside magic shows.
The restaurant also maintained an active online presence, promoting itself as a modern Italian steakhouse and cocktail lounge.
Its closure comes as other businesses on this stretch of Clematis have recently gone dark.
Across the street, Grease Burger Bar served its final customers in July after nearly two decades downtown.
Another departure was PetezPop, a candy and snack shop known for carrying imported treats, including trendy Japanese Kit Kat varieties.
What comes next for this stretch of downtown remains unclear.
