Lake Worth woman killed in Volusia County when car hits tree, FHP says

An elderly Lake Worth woman died in Volusia County on April 5 when her car ran off the road and struck a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to FHP, the accident occurred around 3:23 p.m. at State Road 40 near State Road 11.

Lake Worth woman’s van ran off S.R. 40, striking a tree

The 83-year-old woman was eastbound on S.R. 40 when for an unknown reason her van ran off the road, hitting a tree, state troopers said.

She was transported to AdventHealth Daytona where she was pronounced deceased, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation, FHP said.
