There weren’t as many fireworks as one might think on July 4 for Round 2 of the 2025 John Deere Classic.
Silvis, Illinois, was probably well lit up in the evening after scores from Day 2 cooled a bit compared to Round 1. Doug Ghim remains the leader after firing a 3-under 68 on Friday to reach 12 under for the tournament. That is one shot better than five golfers: Davis Thompson, Brian Campbell, David Lipsky, Emiliano Grillo and Max Homa.
Saturday’s Round 3 will have a slightly different feel than normal as players will play in threesomes on split tees as the tournament directors try to dodge impending afternoon storms.
