Between now and training camp, we will be going through the Jacksonville Jaguars’ full 90-man roster, previewing each player.
Up next is linebacker Ventrell Miller, who wears No. 51.

Ventrell Miller’s tenure with the Jaguars
Mill was a fourth-round pick by the Jaguars in the 2023 NFL draft. He was the 122nd overall selection. This is the final year of his rookie deal.
Recapping Ventrell Miller’s 2025 season
Miller ended up filling predominantly a backup role off the bench last season. He did make two starts while Devin Lloyd was sidelined. But also, not to be forgotten, Miller had a very strong showing during last summer’s training camp, which resulted in him and Lloyd being listed as co-starters on the team’s first depth chart. Then, as Lloyd began to take off, he secured that starting role.
When on the field, Miller was a sound tackler and allowed only five receptions on 14 targets in coverage, while forcing a pass breakup and an interception. Miller was a core special teams contributor as well, playing 320 snaps across five of the six different phases.
Looking ahead to 2026 for Ventrell Miller
Miller is the favorite to be the starting linebacker next to Foye Oluokun. However, that role will have to be earned. Branson Combs seemingly emerged during offseason programs and is pushing Miller for playing time.
“Ventrell’s done a really good job up to this point,” said defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile during offseason programs. “There’s a bunch of guys battling it out in that room right now, but Ventrell did a good job for us last year and played a bunch for us. He’s a really physical guy. I think one of the things he brings to our defense is a physicality in the run game and having been around a few guys like that in the past, I think we got a really good feel for how he fits in and how to use him and really trying to play within his strengths within the defense.”
