Between now and training camp, we will be going through the Jacksonville Jaguars’ full 90-man roster, previewing each player.
Up next is wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who wears No. 3.

How long has Jakobi Meyers been with the Jaguars?
Meyers originally joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2019, signing with the New England Patriots and fighting his way onto the active roster. He consistently improved each year until he signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023, signing a three-year contract. Last season, however, Meyers was requesting a trade as he entered the final year of his deal. Then, prior to the NFL’s trade deadline in early November, Las Vegas traded Meyers to Jacksonville in exchange for fourth (No. 117) and sixth round (No. 182) picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Recapping Jakobi Meyers’ 2025 season
Despite only appearing in nine games for the Jaguars and having a very short time to become familiar with their offensive scheme, Meyers had an immediate impact on the team. He built chemistry quickly with quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and while much of the wide receiver group had been struggling throughout the season with dropped passes, Meyers proved to be reliable. He was rewarded with a three-year, $60 million contract in December. He appeared in nine regular-season games with the Jaguars, and caught 42 passes for 483 yards with three touchdowns.
Looking ahead to 2026 for Jakobi Meyers
The Jaguars’ wide receiver group is one of the most highly anticipated units heading into 2026, and that includes Meyers. While much attention has been paid to the resurgence of Brian Thomas Jr., Meyers could see his career hit a high point as well. As head coach Liam Coen noted, he will have had a full offseason to truly learn and understand the offensive scheme.
“I think it’s something we probably took for granted a little bit because of how quick he came in and was seamlessly involved in the offense and alignment and motions and doing all the right things,” he said in a press conference. “I think we probably took for granted some of the core fundamentals and principles of the offense to go back and teach him, and he’s like, ‘Oh, well that’s what that word came from,’ whereas he maybe didn’t get any of that when he first came in.”
With Meyers willing to handle the short to intermediate routes while attacking the middle of the field, that opens up opportunities for other Jaguars’ pass catchers.
All eyes will be on Meyers to see if he can continue to elevate the Jacksonville offense, which was already white-hot at the end of the 2025 season, and help lead the Jaguars to their first-ever Super Bowl.
