Grading the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Day 3 draft activity:
No. 119: Wesley Williams, edge, Duke: B
The Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t want to wait until No. 124 in today’s fourth round to start Day 3 of the NFL Draft.
The Jaguars made their first trade of the weekend, moving up to select Duke edge rusher Wesley Williams at No. 119.
Williams joins a Jaguars edge group behind Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker and is expected to compete with Danny Striggow and B.J. Green for snaps.
Williams had had 7 1/2 sacks in 2024, but only two sacks last year.
No. 164: Tanner Koziol, TE, Houston: B-plus
Another day, another tight end for the Jaguars at No. 164 (fifth round) with Houston’s Tanner Koziol.
Koziol’s production jumps off the page: He had 94 catches for Ball State in 2024 and 74 catches for Houston in 2025.
The Jaguars are declaring their personnel usage intention, folks. Now on the table is three-tight end personnel.
No. 191: Josh Cameron, WR, Baylor: B
Cameron fills the Jaguars’ need for a bigger wide receiver, at 6 feet 2 and 224 pounds, and can perhaps be used on punt returns to take some of the workload off Parker Washington.
Cameron caught 69 passes for 872 yards and nine TDs last year as a senior to lead the team in both categories and also returned 18 punts for a 7.2-yard average. He had 14 punt returns for a 20.7 average as a junior. He’s physical and has leadership attributes: he walked on at Baylor and eventually became a team captain.
An ankle injury prevented him from posting measurables at the NFL Combine or his Pro Day.
No. 203: CJ Williams, WR, Stanford: C-minus
The grade is a C-minus not just because of Williams, but because the Jaguars had just taken a receiver so the value doesn’t look great.
Cameron and Williams join a receiver group with Jakobi Meyers, Parker Washington and Brian Thomas, Jr., so the competition for Nos. 4-6 receivers spots will be interesting in training camp.
Williams caught 59 passes for 749 yards and six touchdowns for the Cardinal in 2025.
No. 233: Zach Durfee, DE, Washington: D
The Jaguars had numerous chances to take higher-rated edge rushers earlier in the draft but apparently think Wesley Williams is the answer to their depth at the position. Durfee is a classic late-round reach who may or may not pan out. He did start 10 games for a Big Ten team and had four sacks.
A point in his favor is having the fortitude to get to the Big Ten after two years at an NCAA Division II team (Sioux Falls), where he was among the top defensive players in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
NFL.com’s draft projections gave Durfee high marks for a quick first step and ability to change direction, but knocked him for short arms and not being able to get off blocks.
No. 240: Parker Hughes, LB, Middle Tennessee State: C
The Jaguars closed out their draft by selecting Hughes, who had 99 tackles and two interceptions in 2025. He previously had seasons of 28, 53 and 69 tackles.
Grade: C.
Hughes faces an uphill climb to make the roster so practice squad would be a reasonable goal.
