Jacksonville sheriff invites public to town hall series for July

Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters and his command staff announced their plans for a series of six town hall meetings in July. So mark your calendars if you want to attend one of the opportunities to hear firsthand from the sheriff and his team or ask about something that’s been on your mind concerning public safety.

“The town hall meetings are the public’s chance to hear about the state of safety in Jacksonville, meet the men and women who patrol the different districts and ask questions,” the announcement said. “The town halls over the previous years have been instrumental in getting feedback from the public and directing resources.”

Clay County Sheriff’s Office town hall

Jacksonville isn’t the only agency inviting the public to learn more about safety issues and share their concerns. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office’s town hall will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at Eagle Landing Golf Club, 3989 Eagle Landing Parkway in Orange Park.

Guest speakers include the Clay County Emergency Management team and Sheriff’s Office traffic Sgt. Andy Scott.

This is another free event welcome to all community members.

“There will be time for questions and answers, and Clay County deputies will be available to discuss specific concerns and issues affecting your neighborhood,” the Sheriff’s Office posted on its Facebook.
