Earlier this week Rylan Galvan became the second player with ties to the Coastal Bend to earn a promotion in professional baseball in the 2026 season.
The former Sinton Pirates and Texas Longhorns standout was promoted from Kannapolis to High-A Winston-Salem by the Chicago White Sox.
The catcher hit .226 with eight home runs, two doubles and 29 RBIs in 39 games at Kannapolis this season.
Galvan joined Calallen grad Justin Lamkin, who shined at Texas A&M, in earning a promotion this season. Lamkin has been elevated to Double-A Northwest Arkansas by the Royals after a stellar start to the season in Quad Cities.
Between the two levels, Lamkin is 3-1 this season with a 2.04 ERA, allowing 15 hits and striking out 38 in 28⅓ innings.
