The Jacksonville Jaguars defense won Day 2 of training camp, forcing turnovers, getting sacks (had they been able to play under game conditions) and knocking down passes all over the field.
It’s a promising sign from a unit that ranked last in the NFL in most categories in 2024. Defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile is trying to change the mindset to a more aggressive, turnover-hungry unit (“violent at the point of attack”), and they’ve responded on the first two days with three turnovers, two sacks and nine passes broken up.
The only caveat: None of the turnovers and only one of the sacks was by a Jaguars first-team defensive player.
