A popular Jacksonville pie shop takes the cake, earning a spot among the best in the U.S.
In a nationwide vote, downtown Jacksonville’s Mixed Fillings Pie Shop was named to USA TODAY 10BEST’s Best Pie Shops.
Known for its hand-crafted Southern-style pies like its signature, award-winning Blurred Limes Key Limes Pie, Mixed Fillings was ranked No. 3 on the annual list released June 18.
The honor is the latest for Natasha Burton, founder and CEO of Mixed Fillings, who launched her bakery in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic in a small, speakeasy-style storefront in Riverside before moving to Five Points in 2023 and to its present home at 440 W. Adams St. in downtown earlier this year.
Two years ago, Burton’s Blurred Limes Key Limes Pie — a not-too-sweet and not-too-tart pie with its unique pretzel crust — was ranked No. 8 by readers of Southern Living. And in March 2022, Yelp named Mixed Fillings the best pie shop in Florida.
In addition to Blurred Limes, the shop’s seasonal lineup of pies includes Orange Creamsicle, Strawberry Fields, Maybe It’s Mapleine, Wake Me Up Before You Cocoa, and We’re Not Ducking Around Strawberry Rhubarb Pie.
The shop is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
