Jac Caglianone is headed to the Home Run Derby.
Caglianone only has 21 homers through 147 career games at the major-league level, but he’s earned a reputation for being one of the most powerful hitters in the game. At Florida, Caglianone set the program record for homers in a season twice — 33 in 2023 and 35 in 2024. He also has the program record for career home runs (75) and slugging percentage (.760). Caglianone tied an NCAA record by homering in nine straight games from April 6-19, 2024.
He is currently tied with Colorado’s Mickey Moniak for the largest average home run distance among players with 10 or more bombs this season at 418 feet. Caglianone has come into his own midway through his first full season in the big leagues. He’s slashing .258/.322/.455 (77-for-299) with 33 RBIs in 85 games.
Caglianone’s father, Jeff, will throw to him. The Home Run Derby will air on Netflix on Monday, July 13, at 8:00 p.m. ET at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
