Morgan Wallen and his crew have already touched down in Gainesville as prep for the country music star’s two-night stay at the University of Florida’s Ben Hill Griffin Stadium got underway on Wednesday, March 13.
Wallen, who is set for a pair of concerts at The Swamp on May 15-16, has become known for iconic walkouts ahead of his concerts, often bringing out local celebrities. Last weekend in Indianapolis, Wallen brought out Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. When Wallen was in Tuscaloosa, Ala., it was former Alabama football head coach Nick Saban who got the nod.
Since Wallen’s stops in Gainesville were announced in November of 2025, fans have wondered who he might bring out.
Recently, Florida football coach Jon Sumrall was asked if it’d be him who joins the “Whiskey Glasses” and “Last Night” artist during one of this weekend’s shows.
“Are you getting the call up? Are you walking out with him?,” Rachel Phillips of First Coast News asked Sumrall.
Careful with his words, Sumrall responded:
“I’m not going to comment on that because I don’t want to ruin who is,” he said. “I know who is.”
For what it’s worth, however, Sumrall did confirm that he’d be at the concert both nights, while being joined by Florida basketball coach Todd Golden on Night 1.
“The Friday night, Coach Golden and I are going to be together. I’m not saying we’re going to be with Morgan Wallen, but he and I are going to be together hanging out. And then I’ll be there on both nights, for sure watching. I can promise you I’ll be watching both concerts.”
Wallen’s stop in Gainesville is part of his “Still the Problem Tour” and will be the first concert held inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium since Garth Brooks in 2019. Before Brooks, The Rolling Stones in 1994 was the last concert at The Swamp.
