The inaugural Bay County Arts Fair brought creativity, conversation and community together at its debut event at The Atlantis Event and Conference Center in Lynn Haven on May 11.
Think “in-person LinkedIn for artists,” giving local talent a place to connect, collaborate and share ideas.
Jason Hedden, Panama City Comedy’s founder and one of the evening’s organizers, said 40 artists registered for the event, filling the venue with tables of artwork, programming and optimism.
“I feel like I’m in the (art) loop, and I’ve met people here tonight that I didn’t know were in our community, so that’s a win-win,” Hedden said about the turnout.
Next step? Hedden said to hopefully have a Bay County Arts Fair 2.0, or even to create an online platform where artists can manage and showcase their work, and make sales year-around.
For more information about this arts initiative, contact Jason Hedden, and Ben Janke, Lynn Haven’s economic development director.
