Well, this sounds like fun.
There’s going to be a Sarasota County version of the legendary board game Monopoly!
According to Top Trumps USA, the official MONOPOLY: Sarasota County Edition should release in Spring 2027.
Top Trumps USA and its parent company Winning Moves International, are releasing the Sarasota County edition in tandem with Hasbro, the toy and board game giant which owns the Monopoly brand.
In a press release, Top Trumps USA said the MONOPOLY: Sarasota County Edition will “replace the perennial board game’s famous Atlantic City squares, from Boardwalk to Park Place, with Sarasota County-based businesses, nonprofits and landmarks.”
In addition, according to Top Trumps USA, the Sarasota County board will “include a customized Community Chest, Chance playing cards and MONOPOLY Money, ensuring each detail of the game pays homage to the Sarasota community.”
Personally, I can’t wait to see the “Go Directly to Jail” card and how it depicts Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt Hoffman dragging Mr. Monopoly by the feet.
But maybe that’s just me.
Anyway, what’s really great is that the MONOPOLY: Sarasota County Edition folks want the public to offer suggestions on what local spots, attractions, businesses, etc. should fill the board squares.
So email Sarasota@toptrumps.com or visit toptrumps.us with your suggestions.
But here’s our question: Which local landmark most deserves to have top, prestigious Boardwalk status on a Sarasota County Monopoly board?
Vote in our quick poll, and you can also see the results.
And thanks for voting!
