PANAMA CITY BEACH — A popular restaurant has closed down after a decade of serving residents and tourists on the Beach.
In case you missed it, officials with Brass Tap announced in a Facebook post earlier this month that they do not plan to renew the restaurant’s lease. Here’s what we know:

Where is the Brass Tap, and why is it important?
Specializing in American-styled food and craft beer, the Brass Tap is located at 100 Pier Park Drive, Unit 130, in Panama City Beach.
It sits toward the west end of the Pier Park, an outdoor shopping and entertainment complex that is one of the most popular attractions in the Panama City Beach area.
“It’s with a heavy heart, we must announce that we will be pouring our last beer on Saturday, August 16th,” Brass Tap’s Aug. 7 Facebook post reads. “The past 10 years have been nothing short of amazing. We’d like to thank our wonderful staff, each and every single one of our guests, and our loyal regulars who became like family.”
What is the community’s reaction?
In the days leading up to the Brass Tap’s closing, business officials made mutliple Facebook posts to not only thank community members for their support, but also remind regulars to not miss out on a final pint.
As of Aug. 21, the initial post that announced the closure had about 110 reactions, almost 40 comments and more than 10 shares.
Bascially all of the comments, as well as the comments on following posts, were by people expressing how upset they are to see the business go.
More on the local hospitality industry
Past reports note that about about 600 leisure and hospitality jobs in Bay County were lost from June 2024 to June 2025.
In total, about 1,900 local jobs were lost during that time. The others were: 100 in the transportation, warehousing and utilities industry, 100 in the financial activities industry, 300 in the retail trade industry and about 800 in the professional and business industry.
