Gainesville chicken-finger fans are about to get new options. Raising Cane’s, famous for its hand-battered, cooked-to-order chicken tenders, buttered Texas toast, and special sauce, is opening a second location there on May 27.
The new restaurant at SW Archer and SW 34th Street will be the 29th location in Florida, part of an increased push into the Sunshine State. Raising Cane’s opened two Orlando locations in December and a new Ocala location in March, with at least nine more in progress around the state.
Where is Raising Cane’s opening in Gainesville?
The new location is at 3433 SW Archer Road, where the former ABC Fine Wine & Spirits closed. It’s just over three miles from the Raising Cane’s location on W University Ave.
More new Raising Cane’s locations coming to Florida
There are some in the works, though. A few include:
What is Raising Cane’s?
Todd Graves founded Raising Cane’s in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1996 and named it after his dog.
Raising Cane’s has built a devoted national following with a tiny, focused menu centered on their “ONE LOVE” concept: hand-battered chicken fingers marinated for 24 hours and cooked after they’re ordered, never under heat lamps or warmers.
Their only sides are Texas toast, crinkle fries, coleslaw, and their special “Cane’s sauce.” The company prides itself on mixing up fresh batches of cole slaw and sauce in-store every day.
Where can I find a Raising Cane’s near me?
Florida’s first Raising Cane’s opened in South Beach in 2022. There are currently 28 locations, with more on the way. You can find the latest list at locations.raisingcanes.com/fl.
