DeSantis can’t let go of the grift
The audacity of Gov. Ron DeSantis to request personal security after he leaves office in January should tell Floridians that his feelings of entitlement will never end.
DeSantis has had free room and board for eight years – and he has received plenty of political action committee money, too.
But I guess he wasn’t taught as a kid how to save for something he wants.
The grift ends in January, and yet DeSantis just can’t let go.
The Florida Legislature should continue to resist DeSantis’ request for state-funded personal security.
First of all, DeSantis is not considered all that important outside of Florida, and he found that out for himself when he ran for president in 2024.
And, second, it is time for Ron to pull up his big-boy pants and get a job to support his family – just like plenty of other Floridians have to do.
I am sure President Donald Trump could find a job in Mar-a-Lago for DeSantis.
My point is that Floridians do not owe DeSantis a security team once he leaves office.
There are better ways for Florida to spend that money.
DeSantis’ high level of importance exists only in his mind.
