Florida State made a huge splash last week when they flipped four-star wide receiver Devin Carter from the Auburn Tigers. It hasn’t taken long for the Douglasville, Georgia, product to show why the Seminoles wanted him on the roster so much.
This past weekend, the finals of the OT7 event took place in South Florida. In addition to FSU four-star safety commit Darryl Bell III being named one of the top performers at the festivities, Carter was also a stand-out amongst the elite group of recruits, as Tom Loy of 247Sports explains:
“The Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County Top247 2026 talent was once again strong. He is a technician. The Florida State commit was able to get behind the defense, make a ton of plays, and is as sure handed as you’ll find. He has continued to ascend since playing in the Navy All-American Bowl as a junior.”
Carter is one of several receivers that Florida State has coming in 2026. Nearly three weeks ago, they got a commitment from four-star Brandon Bennett, who brings electric speed to the roster. They also have four-star commits Efem White and Darryon Williams, who will both play the receiver position at FSU. Both are ranked as top 20 athletes in the nation.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder is coming off a pretty strong junior season with 41 receptions for 669 yards and five touchdowns. Carter is the No. 120-ranked player nationally, the No. 17 wide receiver, and the No. 14 prospect out of Georgia in the 247Sports composite rankings.
