The FSU Seminoles will play the Stanford Cardinal in the semifinals of the ACC Softball Tournament on Friday. The Seminoles are the No. 1 seed and beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 2-1 on Thursday.
The Cardinal walked off the Louisville Cardinals 6-5 in the eighth inning with a sacrifice fly from River Mahler. Stanford had nine hits in the game, drawing eight walks and striking out four times.
Zoe Prystajko pitched the final 5.1 innings for Stanford to earn the win, allowing one run on three hits with six walks and six strikeouts. She improved to 20-5 on the season with a 2.47.
FSU will be looking for revenge against Stanford after getting swept by the Cardinal in the regular season on the road. It was a hard-fought series, with Stanford winning 9-8 in Game One, 7-2 in Game Two, and 6-5 in extra innings to complete the sweep. FSU trails the all-time series 2-4, this is their first time meeting in the ACC Tournament.
The game is set to start at 1 p.m. ET in Charlottesville, Virginia. The game will be on the ACC Network.
