FSU reserve catcher to enter transfer portal

FSU softball catcher Danika Spinogatti is entering the transfer portal after one season with the Seminoles, she announced Monday on social media.

Spinogatti redshirted during the 2026 season after suffering an injury prior to the season. She will have four seasons of eligibility at her next school.

She is from Winter Garden, Florida, and was a member of FSU’s 2025 recruiting class. She was one of two catchers the Seminoles signed, with Anna Hinde emerging as their starter during the 2026 season. With Hinde looking like a future star for FSU, Spinogatti would have likely had to change positions to see regular playing time.

She had an excellent career at Montaverde Academy before coming to Tallahassee. In five years on the varsity team, she hit .415 with 15 home runs, 11 triples, and 34 doubles in 133 games. She had 116 RBI and finished with a .549 on-base percentage and a .712 slugging percentage.

Spinogatti is the fifth FSU player to enter the transfer portal this offseason, they did not have anyone enter the portal after the 2025 season. She joins All-Americans Isa Torres and Jaysoni Beachum, pitcher Mimi Gooden, and outfielder Addie DeLong in the portal.
