The FSU Seminoles are once again heating up on the recruiting trail, landing two commitments since their statement win over the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday.
They have emerged as the favorite for a third. Steve Wiltfong, On3’s Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal, projected four-star linebacker Gregory Batson to commit to the Seminoles. He was one of the numerous recruits who were in Doak Campbell Stadium for the win, and he named them his leader.
“The atmosphere was electric and the game plans on both sides of the ball were executed well,” Batson said. “Coach White’s defensive scheme stood out to me the most and the way they made plays. I think coach Norvell and the Seminoles are in for a successful season and the sky is the limit. I’m gonna be straight up. They’re my leaders right now and it’s going to take quite a bit for me to change my mind.”
Batson is ranked as the No. 281 overall player and No. 19 linebacker in the Rivals industry ranking. The Leesburg native is also the No. 35 player from Georgia.
It was his third time visiting FSU this year, and they now have a 99.5% chance to land him, according to the Rivals recruiting prediction machine. He is coming off a monster sophomore year for Lee High School, recording 100 tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss, 12.0 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
