The FSU softball program has seen three players announce they will be entering the transfer portal since the end of the 2026 season. While two of them were expected, one was not and is a major loss to the program.
The biggest loss is All-American third baseman Jaysoni Beachum, who announced she is leaving the program after three seasons with the Seminoles. The Tallahassee native hit .406 with 10 home runs, 13 doubles, and 69 RBI last season, making the All-ACC First-Team and was a Second Team All-American by Softball America.
She was expected to be a major part of the lineup as a senior, with the Seminoles looking to get back to the Women’s College World Series after falling short three years in a row. She is expected to be coveted by programs across the country, and she has now received her ranking as a transfer.
While the portal is not officially open and they will change as more players enter, Softball America currently ranks her as the best player in the transfer portal. She has received a 97.00 grade, tying her with former LSU infielder Tori Edwards. That grade would have made her the fifth-best player in last year’s portal class.
Beachum played in and started 184 games for the Seminoles, ending her career with a .375 batting average, 37 home runs, 35 doubles, 180 RBI, 158 runs scored, and 202 hits. She will have one season of eligibility at her next school.
