Former FSU edge commits to Mississippi State

Former Florida State edge Amaree Williams has found a new home. On3’s Pete Nakos reports that Williams has committed to Mississippi State. He has two years of eligibility left.

Williams appeared in 12 games in 2025 for the Seminoles. He produced 10 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, and .5 sacks as an edge. Williams also contributed at the tight end position as he registered two receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown.

During his freshman season, Williams appeared in eight games. The 6-foot-4, 236-pounder hauled in five passes for 71 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Williams is a former blue-chip recruit out of North Palm Beach, Florida. 247Sports transfer rankings didn’t put out a ranking on Williams. However, he was the No. 785 player and the No. 70 edge per On3’s transfer rankings.

FSU was set to have a plan for Williams to contribute as an edge and a tight end in 2026. Instead, he’ll take his two-way skills to the SEC in hopes of getting more opportunities.
