After Elijah Guertin’s official visit to Gainesville this week, the three-star offensive lineman has reportedly solidified the Gators as a “top two” contender for his services. The 6-foot-5-inch, 255-pound defensive lineman from Warwick, Rhode Island, was on campus from June 4-6.
A product of Bishop Hendricken who played both sides of the ball last season, Guertin is one of the top remaining offensive line targets for Phil Trautwein and the Gators staff. Defensive coordinator Brad White is also a graduate of Bishop Hendricken, giving the Gators a unique connection with the top-ranked player in the state.
Guertin told Swamp247 that “(the Gators) stood out to me throughout this weekend,” going on to say, “They have what it takes to develop and win and build a future beyond football with their academics.”
Jon Sumrall’s program landed multiple commitments following its first OV weekend, including four-star offensive tackle Kennedee Jackson and four-star linebacker Ja’Bios Smith. This past weekend’s visits have already yielded pledges from four-star linebacker Ellis McGaskin and three-star safety Kamarion Johnson.
Guertin’s next official visit is with the Penn State Nittany Lions next weekend.
Elijah Guertin’s recruiting summary
Guertin is pinned as the No. 438 overall prospect in the 2027 class and No. 38 at his position according to the 247Sports composite; On3 industry rankings have him at No. 815 and No. 82, respectively. The Rhode Island native has 30 offers, including invitations from SEC programs Tennessee, Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Kentucky.
